These are great pants for hiking and travel!To be clear, I haven’t actually travelled with these pants yet, but I do know what qualities (lightweight, wrinkle-resistant, elastic waist band, a bit of stretch, a bit of water-resistance, moisture-wicking, quick-dry, zippered pockets, extra/hidden pockets) make for good travel pants for me, and this has all of that.I have actually used these for a few easy-to-medium level spring-time hikes so far, and they have performed very well. I did one with temperatures around 80F; the breathability and moisture-wicking properties of these pants definitely helped for that hike. I also did another hike where we had a bit of light rain, and these pants felt dry within about 10-15 minutes after the rain stopped.The best part for me is how comfortable these pants are. The elastic waist band and stretchable material definitely help in this regard, with the 32-inch waist fitting true to size for someone like me who typically wears a 32-inch waist for pants. Also, even with all the extra pockets (many of which have zippers for extra security), this doesn’t look baggy like typical cargo pants…unless you fill all those pockets with bulky items, of course.These pants are currently selling for about $35, which I think is a great value for what you get, based on my experience with them so far.

These pants fit true to size and live up to the claim of being quick drying. They’re somewhat water resistant, if you get caught in a light shower, but not truly waterproof. The fabric is stretchy and comfortable and it breathes well on a hot day. The fabric is also very light weight, but still feels durable.The only complaint that I have is that the pockets on the front of the thighs, are very poorly placed. Anything that goes into those pockets tends to interfere with anything you might have in the traditional hip pockets. Additionally, items placed in the lower thigh pockets tend to swing out and then back, bumping into your legs because these pants are relatively loose fitting. It’s just irritating and I’ll probably never use them. Also, these pockets are, in my opinion, what makes the pants look specifically like hiking pants. If these had been left off, these pants would have been versatile enough to use in other situations besides outdoor activities.Bottom line: overall, these are nice pants for hiking or other outdoor activities. The price is probably about average for what they are. I just wish the designer hadn’t decided to put pockets on the fronts of the thighs.
